[REVIEW] JaDine Adventure Special Doha & Dubai

Once upon a time in land far far a way, a wise middle eastern thinker said that, “love is an adventure (not to mention a jetsetting earning opportunity 🚀💶💷💸). An adage that the combined power of ABS CBN, Dreamscape, and Viva know fully well. They hit more than just two love birds in one “world tour” – JaDine (James Reid & Nadine Lustre) Love.

Kaya naman in the interest of cementing THE JaDine power brand (they are more than just a love team that way) – nagpa-concert na, may pa-travelogue pa. Don’t even get me started on the JaDine and OTWOL sold out merchandise 🌞😇

James Reid, a certified millennial and a Big Brother franchise “graduate” a big winner to boot, does not seem to mind being followed. He reconciles it by saying that:

The OTWOLISTA in me, who can easily switch to  my somehow on a #OTWOLHangover state of mind, looked forward to the travelogue.

Iisipin ko na lang Clark & Leah on their honeymoon. Tutal ‘di ba nag-work sa ArtMart Dubai si Leah (hay LeMon memories, don’t us!??❣) Tapos si Clark hindi man tuluyang mag-migrate sa France to work for a project (move over Kenneth Cobonpue 😃😀) – malamang naman si hindi he’ll still work on the French project. Ang gastos kaya ng kasal nila! Kaya, work, work, work, work! With matching CLeah honeymoon to boot!

In the words of Clarky Boy in their wedding vows, “Leah kay tagal ko itong hinintay.”

Syemps maraming natuwa sa Love is an Adventure. Even Candy Magazine could not contain it’s kilig (and yes, I don’t have to to italicize kilig anymore, it is now officially an English work. Bravo Oxford English Dict!)

Si Jed Maddela, a certified OTWOLISTA naki-hashtag pa.

I watched the first installment of the 4 part special (as in 4!) by segment and in between class and a flight. It’s not OTWOL that way where you are obliged to be oh so hooked after all. So far, I can say that:

How does one define travelogues again? Glad it was not like An Idiot Abroad nor did if feel like I was watching the Karashian’s wannabe in youtube (ever heard of it take’s Gutz to be a Gutierrez?). Neither did it made me think that I was watching a show from the Lifestyle channel.

I guess in the end, Direk Erick Salud, through Love is an Adventure, managed to find a good balance of what a Kapamilya produced travelogue of JaDine travels should be. A whollatta BTS woven in a loose but not cluttered narrative. I think JaDine die hards had more than enough OJD moments as they call it. I sceencapped the (clearly not HD)  moments worth noting and celebrating.

Prayer before meals… mmm before the concert rather. I never really liked Nadine’s outfit for their opening number. I still really don’t know what to make of it. Or baka naman, they had DOHA in mind when they designed it.

Heartwarming first stop. Touched ako dito, kase ‘di ba nagpa-fansign talaga si Tatay para sa kanyang mga anak.

Actors (and stars) are used to receiving branded gifts. I must say that the LV passport holder for instance is #madeofwin. Magagamit talaga ng JaDine. At syemps I can only imagine how they contributed to buy the gift. As a student in a foreign land, ang kalinga ng mga nanay at ate ko sa lugar na malayo sa pamilya at napakalamig – kept me going. At syemps sa Pinoy community lang ako nakakain ng Pinoy food. But I digress. Delete delete

I wonder where the Clark and Leah heart is now. Sana naman hindi naitambak lang kung saan amongst piles of all other gifts and tokens from fans and supporters. Hindi kase fanboys sina Tatay and Kuya eh, medyo OTWOLISTA pero malay ba nila sa branded stuff. Pero ang pusong ‘yan, woodwork, hand crafted, made with love –  hindi nabibili ng pera.

And in sum, I think that’s how I look at Love is an Adventure too. Mangingibabaw ang mainit na pagtanggap ng Kapamilyang Pilipino (na dapat diumano ay ipinapanalo sa eleksyong ito, chos!).  A good glimpse of concert BTS, JaDine Love Doha and Dubai leg. With matching full workload that kept the paying audience entertained, sponsors happy, and somehow pepperred with just the right amount of OJDs. And I heard full full load ha, kahit na PacMan fight ang katapat.

Next stop… Paris! I wonder if they’ll even bother to mention Belgium #insolidarity (because they were in Paris when it happenned).
